Forloren Skildpadde Editor and Creative Director

A Scandinavian journal of Art Writing, founded in 2024 together with designer and editor Julie Asplund.

Based on a 1837 feminist journal with the same name, Forloren Skildpadde draws on a history of Norwegian feminist publishing and writing, while focusing on new and contemporary creative writers across the Scandinavian languages.

Published biannually. Our first issue ‘Et Selskab!’ (’A Party!’) was launched in May 2025.

Available here, here and here.

‘Et Selskab’ deals with a party in every sense of the word, from late nights to loneliness. The title is borrowed from the single long text written by Emilie Diriks in the original journal, which she ran together with Camilla Collett. Collett would become Norway’s most influental 19th century feminist and writer, inspiring Henrik Ibsen’s ‘A Dolls House’ and the country’s first wave of feminism. She is also my ancestor, and a great influence on my work.
